A 4.2 magnitude earthquake hit the Indian capital, New Delhi, late Wednesday, jolting residents out of their beds.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties, but witnesses say the tremors, which lasted several seconds, shook buildings in and around the city just before midnight.
Indian media report that the quake's magnitude measured 6.6 and was also felt in New Delhi's suburbs.
