Senegal's President Macky Sall has appointed Mohammed Dionne as the country's new prime minister.
Dionne is the third person to hold the post since Sall won an election in 2012.
He takes over from Aminata Toure, who was removed last week after her party's poor showing in local elections.
Dionne said Sunday after meeting with the president that he has been given a roadmap that calls for quickly getting to work.
Before becoming prime minister, he worked for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and was a government minister in charge of implementing a multi-billion-dollar development plan in Senegal.
