LIVE BLOG: Clinton Becomes First Woman Nominated for President

The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

Utah (lots of Bernie posters are being waved behind the delegation speaker's head) casts 29 votes for Sanders and eight for Clinton.

Vermont -- home state of Senator Bernie Sanders -- passes on voting during its turn in the roll call.

U.S. Virgin Islands casts 12 votes for Clinton. (It has 12 votes total.)
