LIVE BLOG: Clinton Becomes First Woman Nominated for President

The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

Oklahoma has a 98-year-old woman, who said she thought she would never see a woman president, help cast the state delegation's votes. Delegates cast 22 votes for Sanders and 20 votes for Clinton.

Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon speaks for the delegation, which casts 38 votes for Sanders and 34 votes for Clinton.

Pennsylvania, also considered a battleground state in the general election, casts 126 votes for Hillary Clinton and 82 votes for Bernie Sanders.

Puerto Rico casts 44 votes for Hillary Clinton and 23 votes for Bernie Sanders.
