The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

Idaho, in the northwest of the United States, casts 20 votes for Sanders and seven votes for Clinton.

Illinois, home of President Barack Obama and where he was elected senator, casts 98 votes for Clinton (cast by a longtime friend of Clinton) 74 votes for Sanders.

Indiana -- whose delegation leader makes a rhyme against Donald Trump and his vice presidential pick, state Governor Mike Pence -- casts 48 votes for Clinton, 43 votes for Sanders and one abstention.
