The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

Connecticut, the Constitution State, they the "college state of the next president of the United States," casts 27 votes for Bernie Sanders and 44 votes for Hillary Clinton.

Delaware, home of Vice President Joe Biden and the first state to sign the Constitution, casts 23 votes for Clinton and nine votes for Sanders.

Democrats Abroad, which includes Bernie Sanders' older brother Larry, casts 10 votes for Sanders and seven votes for Clinton. Sanders' brother casts the final vote for the group and is emotional as he mentions their parents. Larry Sanders votes for Bernie.

The mayor of the District of Columbia -- pushing to become the 51st state in the union -- casts five votes for Sanders and 39 votes for Clinton.
