At least 10 people have been killed by a car bomb in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

Another 15 people were reported wounded by the explosion outside a popular hotel and cafe Sunday on Maka al Mukarama Road.

Authorities are blaming the blast on the terrorist group al-Shabab, which has frequently set bombs or launched gun attacks in Mogadishu.

Earlier, unknown gunmen shot and wounded a Somali journalist working for an Independent TV station in Mogadishu.

Abdirisak Jama Elmi, aka “Black,” was shot several times outside his home in Howlwadag district as he was leaving for work. The African Union Mission in Somalia condemned the attack on the reporter, the third targeting journalists in Somalia this year.
