Congress Faces Friday Deadline to Extend US Government Funding

Time is running out for Congress to keep the U.S. government open and fully functioning. VOA’s Michael Bowman reports federal spending authority expires at midnight Friday and, so far, Democrats and Republicans have been unable to agree on a temporary funding extension, much less yearlong appropriations for the new fiscal year that begins October 1.
