Chinese Miners Rescued After 36 Days Underground

Four miners have been rescued in eastern China after spending 36 days underground, reports the country's state-run news agency.

The workers were lifted from a mine in Shandong Province Friday night through emergency bore holes that had been used to supply them with food and clothing.

The gypsum mine collapsed on December 25, trapping 29 miners.

Fifteen miners have escaped or been rescued, while one person was confirmed dead. Thirteen others remain missing and are presumed dead.
