Chinese President Xi Jinping is heading to Britain for a four-day state visit aimed at increasing trade ties between the two nations.
The visit is the first by a Chinese head of state since 2005. It comes just a week after a high profile trip to China by British Treasury chief George Osborne.
Protests are expected to take place throughout Xi's visit that begins Tuesday and ends Friday.
Xi plans to address both houses of Parliament on Tuesday. He then meets Labor party leader Jeremy Corbyn for private talks before an elaborate state banquet hosted at Buckingham Palace by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
During the trip, the Chinese leader, who will be accompanied by his wife, Peng Liyuan, is expected to meet with other royals, including Prince William and Kate, politicians - including David Cameron, civic and business leaders.
He will also attend a British-China business summit Wednesday in London before travelling to Manchester, England, where he will have lunch with the city's mayor and tour the Manchester City football team's training grounds.
