Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is returning to Cuba for a progress check on his battle against cancer.
Last week, Chavez said he believes the examination will confirm he is cancer free.
The socialist leader had a cancerous tumor removed from his pelvic area in Cuba in June. Since then, he has undergone four rounds of chemotherapy, three of those sessions in Cuba.
But further details about the cancer have not been released, leading to speculation about Mr. Chavez's health.
Earlier this month, he denied a newspaper report that he had been rushed to the hospital with kidney failure linked to his cancer treatment.
Chavez has vowed to fully recover to mount a campaign for a new, six-year term in next year's elections. He came to power in 1999.
