More than 30 people were killed and several others wounded in a Sunday morning cattle raid in Mayendit, Unity State. Authorities in the area said the attackers are believed to have come from Warrap State.
The county commissioner of Mayendit, Gatdiet Jah, said 49 people are still missing following the deadly attack in his area. A local chief in the village where the attack occurred said the South Sudan army, belonging to Division Five Command in Warrap State, has intercepted the attackers, but there are no details of any arrests.
