Officials in Iraq say at least 15 people have been killed in two separate car bombings in Baghdad.
Police say the deadliest attack took place in the mostly Shi’ite neighborhood of Ur, where a car bombing killed at least eight people and wounded 20 others.
They say another car bomb exploded in the central Karrada district, also a predominantly Shi’ite area, killing at least seven people.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the attacks, but al-Qaida has a history of waging attacks against Shi’ites and government forces.
Iraq has been experiencing its worst violence in recent years. Last month, an estimated 1,000 people were killed in car bombings and shootings.
