A wave of bombings has struck the Iraqi capital, killing at least 24 people and wounding 66 others.
Wednesday’s blasts were mostly car bombs and went off in mainly Shi'ite neighborhoods of Baghdad.

The United Nations estimates more than 7,500 people have been killed this year in Iraq, mostly civilians, with the violence surging since April. The civilian death toll for 2013 so far is more than double last year’s figure, and the worst since 2008.
