Pakistani officials say at least six people were killed and more than 14 others wounded after a bomb planted on a parked motorcycle exploded in the country's volatile northwest.
The officials said Monday's attack took place in the town of Nowshera in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, as top officials from the area's ruling Awami National party were leaving a large political rally.
The chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, had addressed the gathering, but left the venue shortly before the blast occurred.
Many of the wounded were taken to Lady Reading Hospital in nearby Peshawar, the provincial capital.
The Reuters news agency reports the Pakistan Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
