Tickets to this sporting spectacle are hard to come by and cost an arm and a leg, so attending the game is often just as elusive as playing in it.
So Americans have made the event a day of super partying: Friends come together -- typically wearing a jersey or shirt of the team they support, eat food that often involves cheese and chicken wings and pizza, and they drink (usually beer). While it used to be a sporting event marketed to men, promoters and advertisers got smart to expanding the theme from men hurling themselves at each other, to men hurling themselves at each other with lots of breaks for creative advertisements and halftime heavyweight entertainment.

This year, the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons. The Patriots have been contenders on Super Bowl Sunday nine times and have taken the title as champions on four. The Atlanta Falcons are playing in their second Super Bowl.
