He says the demands are for President Hosni Mubarak and parliament to resign, and for a new Constitution be drafted. VOA’s Mohamed Elshinnawi spoke to him by phone. The conversation took place before Mubarak’s televised speech this evening in which he announced that he would not run for president again, but made no mention of plans to resign in the immediate future.
