Al-Jazeera television says Syria has deported the network's missing journalist to Iran.
Journalist Dorothy Parvaz disappeared after flying into the Syrian capital, Damascus, 11 days ago. The network reported Wednesday that Syrian officials said she was being held in Tehran.
The network said Syria previously had confirmed last week that it had detained Parvaz and was holding her in Damascus.
Earlier this month, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi demanded the government of Syria look into Parvaz's case.
Al-Jazeera has continued to call for her immediate release. She holds American, Canadian and Iranian citizenship.
Nearly all foreign media have been banned from Syria during its bloody crackdown on anti-government protesters.
