Across Africa, 2015 Has Been a Lean, Hungry Year

2015 has been a hungry year for much of the African continent. In East and Southern Africa, el Nino and climate fluctuations have provoked serious food crises. Conflicts in South Sudan and the Central African Republic have had the same effect, as have poverty and a population boom in the Sahel. From Johannesburg, VOA’s Anita Powell takes a look at what these separate crises have in common.
