At least 125 people have died from water-borne diseases in the aftermath of record monsoon floods in western India.
Local health officials say the death toll stands at 89 in the country's financial hub of Bombay, also known as Mumbai.
They say the rest have died in surrounding areas.
Officials suspect many of the deaths are due to leptospirosis, a disease caused by exposure to water contaminated with animal urine. Other illnesses such as gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the digestive tract, have been reported.
The deaths from disease come after more than 1,000 people died from floods that inundated the region about two weeks ago. More than 4,000 people have been hospitalized.
