Pakistan says it will accept Israeli relief aid following last week's devastating earthquake.
A Pakistani foreign ministry spokeswoman Saturday said her government has set up an aid fund for the quake victims, with no restriction on who may contribute. She said Israel is free to take part in the relief effort.
Israel says it has offered aid to Pakistan, even though the two countries have no diplomatic relations.
Their two foreign ministers held a widely publicized meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, September 1. Israel says it would like relations with Pakistan to develop further, but Islamabad says diplomatic recognition of Israel would depend on resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
