An Indonesian child receives a polio vaccination in Jakarta |
Jakarta first launched a massive drive in May to immunize 6.5 million children, one month after the country confirmed its first case of polio 10 years.
The number of Indonesian children diagnosed with polio now stands at 65.
Indonesia is one of several countries where polio has re-emerged since 2003, and the first outside Africa and the Middle East. The outbreak has been traced to northern Nigeria, where hard-line Muslims had boycotted a vaccination campaign.
