Ten lawmakers from Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's party are free Thursday, one day after being arrested on charges of disturbing the peace.
Police released the lawmakers late Wednesday but warned authorities may still pursue the charges by way of summons.
The legislators with Mr. Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party were ordered to return to the Harare Central Police station Thursday morning and then released again.
The party's attorney, Tafadzwa Mugabe, says the lawmakers were arrested at the Finance Ministry Wednesday, where they went to ask a senior public servant about government vehicles.
The Movement for Democratic Change defeated President Robert Mugabe's party in last year's elections.
MDC leader and now Prime Minister Tsvangirai joined Mr. Mugabe in a coalition government in February.
The MDC accuses Mr. Mugabe of undermining the coalition by harassing its lawmakers.
Before Wednesday's arrests, at least seven MDC legislators were detained on various charges.
