Five more nations have reported their first cases of swine influenza A-H1N1, as the disease continues to spread worldwide.
The World Health Organization reported initial cases in Iraq, Ivory Coast and Cape Verde. Meanwhile, health officials in Indonesia and Cambodia also have confirmed their first cases.
The WHO said the six cases in Iraq were confirmed in young basketball players who returned to the country last week after a visit to the United States.
In Indonesia, Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari said a 37-year-old pilot and a 22-year-old tourist from Australia have each been confirmed with the virus.
Health officials in Cambodia said their first case involves a 16-year-old American student who arrived in the country last week.
Earlier this month, the WHO declared an influenza pandemic for the first time in more than 40 years.
The United Nations agency said nearly 56,000 cases of swine flu infection have been confirmed worldwide, with 238 deaths. Mexico is the country with the most fatalities attributed to the virus, 115, followed by the United States, with 87.
Symptoms of swine flu are similar to the common seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.
