Russian Cargo Ship Heads for Space Station

An unmanned Russian cargo ship is on its way to the International Space Station to deliver supplies for the orbital outpost's three-member crew.

A Soyuz rocket blasted off Tuesday from the Russian space port in Kazakhstan, carrying a Progress M-66 cargo ship.

The ship is scheduled to dock with the ISS on Friday. It is carrying more than two tons of food, fuel, and a new Russian-made, computerized space suit.

The next U.S. space shuttle mission to the ISS has been postponed until at least February 19 due to safety concerns. Engineers at the U.S. space agency NASA says it is postponing the flight of the space shuttle Discovery to run tests on a newly installed set of fuel valves.

Discovery and its seven-member crew are to deliver the last set of solar wings to the International Space Station, as well as a new member for the orbital outpost's permanent crew.
