Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is urging world powers to be "polite" if they want nations to change their behavior.
The Iranian leader said Thursday world powers should learn to talk with nations politely so that "the cultured and peace-loving" people of Iran will listen.
Speaking in the northern city Mashhad, Mr. Ahmadinejad did not name any countries specifically, but said the "era of bullying" is over.
He also accused world powers of hypocrisy, saying that while they make scientific progress, they get angry when other nations enter scientific fields.
Iran sparked international alarm earlier this week after announcing that it had launched its own rocket-propelled satellite into space.
Western nations are concerned the missile technology could be used for a nuclear weapon, which Iran is suspected of building.
Iran says it is seeking nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
Diplomats from six major powers discussed Iran's nuclear program in Germany Wednesday.
The envoys from France, Germany, the United States, China, Russia and Britain pledged to pursue a diplomatic solution to the standoff.
They also urged Iran to comply with the United Nations' demands that Tehran stop enriching uranium and open its program to international inspectors.
