International aid agencies warn the onset of the rainy season could bring more cholera deaths if the epidemic is not rapidly contained. They urge a massive scale-up of operations to get on top of the disease.

With the cholera death toll closing in on 1 000, the lower house of parliament today was considering a motion voicing concern about the epidemic – debate was still in progress as Studio Seven went to air.
