U.S. President George Bush is encouraging all Americans to vote in
national elections Tuesday and prove to the world that self-government
can endure.
During his weekly radio address Saturday, Mr. Bush
said U.S. elections serve as a model, especially to young democracies
such at Georgia, Ukraine, Afghanistan and Iraq.
The president said Americans have demonstrated that for two centuries a free people have been able to choose their own leaders.
He said the nation has flourished because of its commitment to trusting the wisdom of the people.
President
Bush also called on voters to recall the sacrifices made by generations
of Americans in uniform to preserve America's way of life.
