Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian man as he was allegedly
preparing to throw a firebomb at soldiers in the West Bank, the third
such death in the past three days.
Medics and witnesses say the
20-year-old was shot earlier Thursday by an Israeli army patrol in the
village of Kufr Malik. The Israeli military says forces opened fire on
a group of three men with firebombs after they ignored warning shots.
One other man was reported wounded.
Hospital
sources say another suspected Palestinian firebomber was fatally
wounded in Ramallah during clashes late Wednesday. The man was
protesting the killing of another Palestinian man a day earlier. They
say the 21-year-old man was shot in the chest at the heavily guarded
Jewish settlement of Beit El, and later died of his wounds.
An Israeli military spokesman said troops shot at a protester who was preparing to throw a firebomb at them.
The
incident took place following the funeral of an 18-year-old Palestinian
man killed by Israeli troops late Tuesday as he was preparing to throw
a firebomb into a Jewish settlement.
A military statement said Israeli soldiers found another 10 firebombs at the scene.
