Police in Pakistan Friday released a photograph of the face of a second man suspected of involvement in the suicide assassination attempt against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
A photograph of the head of the first suspect was issued one day after the attacks near Ms. Bhutto's motorcade procession in Karachi on Thursday of last week. The suicide attacks killed 139 people and wounded hundreds of others. Ms. Bhutto escaped unhurt.
Police initially thought the attack was carried out by one suicide bomber and a grenade. But two severed heads were found at the site of the blasts. Neither man has been identified.
Police have detained some people for questioning, but the investigation has caused tensions between Ms. Bhutto and the government.
President Pervez Musharraf has decided against accepting help from the West -- something Ms. Bhutto has request.
The twice-serving prime minister also demanded that a new police chief take over the inquiry into the attack, accusing the former chief of bias. She claimed the former leader was involved in the torture of her husband while he was in police custody in 1999.
A new police official has taken over the probe.
