Eleven British jurors hearing evidence on the death of Princess Diana have returned to London from Paris, where she spent her final hours before her death 10 years ago.
The historic session in the French capital, the first time a British court has convened in Paris, allowed the jury to examine the last steps taken by Diana and her companion, Dodi al-Fayed. The two died when their car crashed in a Paris tunnel in August of 1997.
The jury visited the Ritz Hotel, where the princess and Fayed spent their final evening together. The jury also visited the crash scene near the Eiffel Tower.
Jurors are expected to hear testimony Wednesday from French witnesses by video-link from Paris.
Earlier, French and British police inquiries concluded the crash was an accident and that their driver was drunk and speeding.
But Dodi's father, Mohamed al-Fayed, contends Britain's Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth's husband, ordered British agents to kill Diana and Dodi because she was pregnant with Dodi's child. However, the elder Fayed has never produced evidence supporting his claims.
