Syria has accused Israel of violating its air space and dropping munitions on its territory on September 6. The Israeli government has refused to comment on the alleged incident.
On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Israel is ready to negotiate with Syria without preconditions.
The Syrian newspaper is calling on Israeli officials to show sincerity by resuming negotiations at the point where they broke down in 2000.
Israel-Syria peace talks collapsed over the Golan Heights. Israel seized the territory from Syria during the 1967 war.
