The Palestinian group Hamas has urged militants in the Gaza Strip to stop firing rockets at border crossings with Israel, so the flow of basic goods will not be disrupted during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Hamas said an end to rocket attacks on the posts would also add to the security and stability of the territory.
Crossings between Israel and Gaza have been largely closed since Hamas took control of the territory in June. But Israel allows aid groups to use some crossings to bring in food, medicine and other supplies.
In other developments Thursday, witnesses say an Israeli airstrike wounded at least one Islamic Jihad militant in Gaza's Jebaliya refugee camp. Islamic Jihad was involved in Tuesday's rocket attack that wounded about 40 Israeli soldiers at a base near Gaza.
