The Ukrainian election commission has reversed its earlier decision which would bar candidates from an opposition bloc to run in the September parliamentary election.
Election officials voted Wednesday to register candidates from Yulia Tymoshenko's pro-democracy bloc. A court in Kyiv ordered the commission to review the case Tuesday.
The Central Election Commission on Saturday refused to register hundreds of members of Tymoshenko's slate, saying the candidates failed to provide their street addresses in required paperwork.
Tymoshenko and President Viktor Yushchenko - former political rivals - have agreed to join forces in a push to wrest control of parliament from Russian-leaning Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych.
The president dissolved parliament in April and called new elections after accusing the prime minister of illegally enticing pro-Yushchenko lawmakers into abandoning their party.
Tymoshenko supported Mr. Yuschchenko against his rival Mr. Yanukovych in the 2004 presidential election. Mr. Yushchenko won after a court-ordered revote following mass protests known as the Orange Revolution. Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, who favors closer ties with Russia, staged a remarkable comeback last year when his party received the most votes in parliamentary elections and formed a ruling coalition.
