Responding to the financial crisis hitting many of Zimbabwe’s football clubs, including Bulawayo-based Highlanders, supporters of the team in South Africa have launched the Highlanders Football Club South Africa Supporters Association.
Interim Chairman Daniel Molokela told sports reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye the group will be launched next month and will help Highlanders in cash and kind.
Highlanders has lost some key players to South African teams - mid-fielder Ralph Matema being the latest - so it is expected some of these players will take an active role in the new football supporters association once it gets off the ground.
