Commemorations scheduled to mark the aftermath of the 2nd anniversary of the government's clean up campaign, Operation Murambatsvina, started off on a low-key Friday, beginning with the cancellation of a prayer meeting scheduled to take place in Harare’s Glen View suburb, owing to security fears.
Networking Officer Rashid Mahiya of the Crisis In Zimbabwe Coalition, did not elaborate on the reasons for the poor show, but told reporter Patience Rusere of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe, that they faced security and logistical problems in kicking off the festivities.
