TV comedy writer-producer has been charged in the death of his wife.
John James "J.J" Paulsen, 47, has been held in jail since the April 18 discovery of his wife's decomposing body at their home in Carmel, Indiana.
An autopsy report indicates Leanne Serrano-Paulsen, 39, had been fatally beaten and was dead for at least a week prior to her discovery.
Upon entering the couple's home, authorities found their 16-month-old son, Christopher, alone and crying, but unharmed.
J.J. Paulsen was found walking along a street about five kilometers away. He was arrested on charges of child abandonment and violation of probation. He had pleaded guilty in January to domestic battery.
Police said Serrano-Paulsen had called police twice last year after being beaten by her husband.
J.J. Paulsen was a writer and producer for Cosby, In Living Color, and other U.S. TV programs.
