NATO-led troops in Afghanistan have killed a second civilian originally suspected of being a suicide bomber.
A NATO spokesman said a man failed to heed a warning as he approached a NATO convoy just west of Kandahar on Saturday. Members of the convoy saw what appeared to be a device with wires protruding from his chest.
The NATO statement says troops fired two warning shots before firing the shot that killed him.
When the troops searched the man, they found twine and other materials protruding from his jacket but no explosives.
A nearly identical incident occurred near the Kandahar airfield earlier the same day.
