Indonesian navy officials believe they have found the captain of a ferry that sank last weekend with more than 600 people on board.
Navy officials say the man was among those found clinging to an offshore oil rig Wednesday, hundreds of kilometers away from the site where the ferry capsized in the Java Sea.
Searches continued Thursday, but there was little news of additional survivors being located. More than 200 people have been rescued, and 100 bodies have been found.
Bad weather has made it difficult for rescue workers to reach survivors. Those who are alive are using life rafts, lifejackets and other debris to keep themselves alive.
Survivors say the ferry went down in minutes, with many still on board.
The ferry was sailing from Borneo island to Java island - Kumai in Central Kalimantan province to Semarang in Central Java - when it sank. Officials blame stormy weather for the sinking.
Ferries are a cheap and widespread means of transportation among Indonesia's 17,000 islands.
