Israeli warplanes bombed a bridge in northern Lebanon and repeatedly struck Beirut's southern suburb early Friday.
Lebanese medics say at least 11 people died and more than 10 others were wounded when Israeli jets fired missiles at the bridge in the Akkar plain near the border with Syria.
Earlier, Lebanese media said at least 20 loud explosions within a span of about a half hour rocked Beirut's Dahiyeh suburb, a Hezbollah stronghold that Israeli forces have repeatedly pounded in the month-long conflict.
On Thursday, Israeli forces seized the southern Lebanese town of Marajayoun after fierce battles with Hezbollah guerrillas. Israel says one of its soldiers was killed.
Lebanese officials say Israeli troops detained 350 Lebanese soldiers in the mainly Christian town, where the Lebanese army has large barracks.
Despite the fighting, Israeli officials said Thursday they will delay an expanded offensive in Lebanon to give diplomats more time to organize an international peacekeeping force.
Earlier, Israeli airstrikes hit a historic lighthouse and a radio tower north of Beirut. Israeli aircraft dropped leaflets warning residents of three southern suburbs to evacuate.
Hezbollah fired more than 100 rockets into northern Israel Thursday, killing two people in an Arab-Israeli village.
At least 900 Lebanese, most of them civilians, have been killed since the fighting began after Hezbollah captured two soldiers in Israel July 12. More than 100 Israelis, most of them soldiers, also have died.
