Zimbabwe's Information Minister, Tichaona Jokonya, has been found dead in a hotel room in the capital, Harare.
There was no information on the cause of death. Local media reported the 68-year-old Jokonya had been ill earlier this year.
Jokonya was appointed to the post last year after President Robert Mugabe fired the previous information minister, Jonathan Moyo.
In a recent press conference, Jokonya threatened Zimbabwe's journalists, telling them traitors would die.
Jokonya was a career diplomat, and served as Zimbabwe's ambassador to the United Nations for ten years.
