The French sports daily L'Equipe reports that Bulgarian tennis player Sesil Karatantcheva tested positive for a steroid at the 2005 French Open tournament near Paris.
In its Tuesday edition, the sports daily alleged the 16-year-old Karatantcheva tested positive for nandrolone after her 6-2, 4-6, 4-6 quarterfinal loss to Elena Likhovtseva of Russia in June.
L'Equipe also reported that Karatantcheva appeared last week before a panel of three judges appointed by the International Tennis Federation. But Karatantcheva expressed shock at the allegations, denying she had appeared before the federation's judges.
L'Equipe's report is its latest allegation of positive doping tests at this year's French Open. The paper reported Argentina's Mariano Puerta and his countryman Mariano Hood failed drug tests.
