In Iraq, a suicide car bomber has attacked a Shi'ite funeral Saturday, killing at least 35 people and injuring some 50 others.
Police in the town of Abu Saida, near Baquba, say the bomber drove into a funeral tent where mourners were offering condolences and set off his explosives.
Earlier, in southeastern Baghdad, at least 13 people were killed and 20 wounded when a car bomb exploded in a busy market.
In Mosul, Iraqi police and U.S. forces clashed with insurgents, killing eight militants.
Also, Iraqi police say four people have been arrested in connection with Friday's double mosque bombings that killed nearly 80 people in the mainly Kurdish town of Khanaqin.
Against this backdrop of violence, leaders representing Iraq's Shi'ites, Kurds and disenfranchised Sunni Arabs began three days of national reconciliation talks in Cairo. The Arab League-hosted talks hope to stop sectarian conflict from engulfing Iraq.
