Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz's "Tu No Tienes Alma" was honored for record of the year and song of the year at the sixth annual Latin Grammy awards held in Los Angeles Thursday.
The event was broadcast live in Spanish for the first time over the Univision television network. The English-language CBS network had carried the awards show in previous years, but dropped it due to sagging ratings.
Alternative singer-songwriter Bebe, from Spain won the grammy for best new artist for the album Malo.
Gian Marco took home the award for best singer-songwriter album for Resucitar. Marc Anthony was also honored for his salsa album Valió La Pena, and Elvis Crespo won best merengue album for Saboréalo.
