Afghan President Hamid Karzai has arrived in Pakistan's capital Islamabad with more aid for victims of the massive October 8 earthquake.
Mr. Karzai brought five tons of medicine and a 30-member medical team. During his one day visit, he will hold talks with President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.
The United Nations has warned that hundreds of thousands of people in Pakistan are still without shelter and need greater relief efforts before the onset of winter.
U.N. coordinator Rashid Khalikov on Sunday called for more support from the international community as soon as possible.
The European Commission Monday pledged nearly $96 million in aid. The European Union's executive body said more than $16 million has already been released.
The U.S. Central Command and the World Food Program have also pledged more aid.
The earthquake is believed to have killed more than 53,000 people in Pakistan and about 1,300 in Indian Kashmir.
