A British-based mine clearing agency says two of its Afghan employees have been killed and six others wounded when a remote-controlled bomb tore through their vehicle in southern Afghanistan.
Halo Trust regional director, Mohammad Ashraf, said Sunday's blast occurred in the volatile southern Kandahar province, and that the wounded were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Also Sunday, in the same province, three Afghan soldiers were wounded in a similar roadside attack. Witnesses say several civilians were also injured in the explosion.
No one has claimed responsibility for the blasts. But similar acts have been blamed on Taleban insurgents who have carried out a series of suicide attacks and ambushes against U.S.-led coalition forces, Afghan troops and aid and government workers.
