Iraqi police say a suicide bomber blew up his explosives filled car near the Oil Ministry in Baghdad, killing at least nine people and wounding eight others.
Another suicide car bomb attack occurred in an eastern part of the capital Thursday. Police said there were casualties, but no confirmed figure was immediately available.
The attacks come a day after 25 people were killed and 90 others wounded in a suicide attack at a Shi'ite mosque in the town of Hilla. The bomber struck as the faithful gathered at the mosque to pray before breaking fast Wednesday - the first day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani met with British Prime Minister Tony Blair in London Thursday, to discuss preparations for the October 15 national referendum on Iraq's new constitution.
