India, Pakistan to Review Progress in Peace Process

India's foreign minister arrived in Pakistan Sunday to review progress made in the 21-month peace process.

Natwar Singh told reporters at Islamabad airport that people in both countries overwhelmingly desire friendly relations. He expressed hope that his visit will provide further impetus to increasing cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Singh is expected to meet with his Pakistani counterpart, Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri and President Pervez Musharraf during the four-day visit.

The two nuclear-armed neighbors are also expected to sign agreements on advance warning of ballistic missile tests and on a hotline between their coast guards.

Mr. Singh's visit follows a meeting between General Musharraf and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New York last month.
