European Union observers say there were some worrisome cases of fraud in the Afghan parliamentary elections held September 18.
They reported there was some ballot rigging, proxy voting, and possibly voter intimidation.
The report says although the fraud did not appear to be nationwide, it is a cause for concern.
The report urges the country's election administration to address the issues in a transparent way so that the integrity of the electoral process can be safeguarded.
More than six million Afghans voted for new national parliament and provincial assemblies.
Earlier this week, the joint U.N.-Afghan electoral authority expressed satisfaction with how the polls were conducted. Final results are expected October 22.
