US Men Top Jamacia in CONCACAF Gold Soccer Tourney

The U.S. men's football (soccer) team has defeated Jamaica, 3-1, while Honduras downed Costa Rica 3-2 to reach the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

Josh Wolff put the Americans ahead in the sixth minute and DaMarcus Beasley scored for the U.S. team in the 42nd and 83rd minutes. Ricardo Fuller scored Jamaica's only goal late in the game.

Meanwhile, Honduras got goals from Wilmer Velazquez (6th minute) Danilo Turcios (27th minute) and Tyson Nunez (29th minute). Costa Rica's scores came from Christian Bolanos in the first half and substitute Bryan Ruiz late in the game.

The other quarterfinals are scheduled for Sunday in Houston, Texas with Colombia taking on defending champion Mexico and South Africa playing Panama.

The United States has won the tournament, sanctioned by the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football twice. Mexico has captured the Gold Cup four times.
